Hark! I Hear The Harps Eternal – Cello and Piano

This familiar hymn text is used with the FOREST GREEN English tune, which is well-suited for the lyrical cello lines. The variety of musical changes in this arrangement attempt to portray the beauty and uniqueness of God’s creation.

2. HARK! I HEAR THE HARPS ETERNAL – Cello and Piano digital product JH-2242
This is one of the great traditional Spirituals, full of hope and energy as it anticipates the joys of reaching our eternal home in heaven. Through the sometimes “gritty articulations”, as well as in the soaring lines of the cello, this arrangement attempts to emulate the anticipation of someday reaching heaven’s shores. Think of this as a musical description of that celebration.

3. THERE IS A FOUNTAIN – Cello and Piano digital product JH-2244
Based on an old Gospel Song, this arrangement could be a part of a communion observance, or a time of reflection and prayer. The simple, clear melody is intentionally preserved in both the cello and piano parts throughout.
